The mission of the Asia-Pacific Hernia Society (APHS) is to provide a professional forum for the exchange of information and education regarding current and future methods of diagnosis and treatment of hernia, including hiatal, parastomal, and pelvic hernias.

Special attention is focused on basic science of biomaterials; metabolic disorders leading to hernia formation; diagnosis and treatment of hernia.

The Society will:

• Organize meeting for presentation and discussion of scientific material;
• Supports cooperation in educational activities around the Asia-Pacific Region;
• Supports and undertake project of scientific interest in the subject of hernia that will deserve the goal and the mission of the Society.
